Sunday 28 March 2021

Today we begin our Easter Sermon Series, HOPE RISING.

You are welcome to join us as we worship God together in our 10am service!
If you can’t attend in person, our YouTube service is available from 10.15am >>>

2021 Crossover Easter Offering
This year, as in past years, our Good Friday Offering will go to Crossover, to support their evangelism work, reaching Australians for Christ.
Crossover is an initiative of Australian Baptist Ministries to foster mission and resource Baptist churches in evangelism, church planting and church revitalisation. Crossover equips churches to creatively share Jesus in diverse Aussie contexts.
You can put your offering in the box at church on Good Friday, or on the Sundays on either side by using the “Crossover Offering envelopes” which are available from church, or you can give online by Clicking here>>>
Produce Available

There is some fresh produce available from the hall after the 10am service.
It will be bagged up and ready to go.
Thanks to Grace Williams for donating this to us.

Building Redevelopment News
Good news at last!
The sale of all 16 apartments is now complete. It has been a long and challenging road to get us to this point, but we have persevered, we have trusted God, and we have succeeded!
The end is in sight. The upgrade of our facilities is progressing and much work is going on behind the scenes so we can make the most of the new as soon as we are able. There are still challenges being thrown up pretty much on a daily basis, so please continue to pray for all involved, for patience, understanding, clarity of thought and above all, that we look to God for his wisdom.
Communications Survey – Thank You

It’s now just over a year since the Connecter was forced to go completely on line, and it’s good to re-assess, hence our recent Communications Survey. The Communications Team thanks all those who participated. We have gathered some good information as a result. You may have noticed a few little changes have taken place already.
After digesting the survey results, we plan to make some bigger changes next month. Of course, we aim to communicate as well and as efficiently as possible. So stay tuned!
Constructive feedback is always welcome. Although, please appreciate not all suggestions are possible – our resources are limited 🙂
Margaret Eldridge Inducted to Tasmanian Honour Roll

On Friday 12 March, Margaret Eldridge travelled to Launceston to be inducted into the Tasmanian Honour Roll of Women for her service to Multicultural Affairs; Community Advocacy and Inclusion; Education and Training; and Volunteering.
At the event, 18 women and three women’s groups were inducted in a ceremony which takes place every second year and is an initiative of the Tasmanian government. The Minister for Women, Sarah Courtney, presented the awards. Congratulations Margaret on your special award!
Church Family Picnic

A couple of weeks ago, about 30 people joined together for our Church Picnic at Bellerive. It was a great time of community and connection, with playground activities and backyard cricket.
Thanks to Ben and Tracy for organising a great day out.
Crown of Thorns Oratorio – Good Friday, 2 April at St David’s Cathedral

The Tasmanian premiere of Charles’ Packer’s Crown of Thorns will be performed on Good Friday in St. David’s Cathedral.
WHEN: Good Friday at 3.30 and 6.30pm
WHERE: St. David’s Cathedral
COST: Tickets $35 and $30 concession, from www.trybooking.com/BOHCN and from Whitey’s Shearing Shed, Kingston; Lindisfarne Post Office; and Bellerive Newsagency.
MORE INFO: The Cathedral has limited seating due to social distancing, so early purchase is recommended.
Car Parking on Sundays
Just a reminder to be thoughtful about where you park your car.

Now that settlement on the units has taken place, it is important to remember the numbered spaces in the car park are for the sole use of the residents.
As well, if you are fit and able, please leave parking spaces in the front of the church for those less able. Just think of the benefit of that little bit of exercise! Thank you for your cooperation.
HBC Services Online
We hope to be live-streaming services from church to you very soon. Until then, we pre-record our services on YouTube here >>>
Audio of in-person services, including the Q&A, is available HERE >>>
GIVING – Your tithes and offerings

Thank you to all who have faithfully continued with regular giving during the current economic climate. Many are now using EFT, with quite a few who have made the switch since we had to close our doors. Your ongoing support is much appreciated.
There is an offering box available for your use as you leave the Sanctuary. (A change to the way we do things as a result of COVID-19).
COVID-19 Reminders
Please remember the simple guidelines to keeping everyone safe, including:
- Stay at home if you are unwell – always cover coughs and sneezes.
- Please use hand sanitiser when you arrive and before you leave
- Ensure your name is recorded
- Family members may sit close together – others please remember the 1.5m rule.
Thank you for your assistance.
