Every Thursday

SCROLL DOWN FOR DECEMBER 17 PRAYER POINTS

You are invited to pray!

All day each Thursday we will join together in unity and in prayer for the future of Hobart Baptist Church. In addition, individuals are welcome to fast, as God leads.

The day will culminate in an hour of concerted prayer, 6-7pm, as we gather in the Tab, led most weeks by Stephen and Jenny Baxter.

JOIN IN AS WE UNITE TO PRAY FOR THE FUTURE OF
HOBART BAPTIST CHURCH

Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind.

Philippians 2:1-2 (NIV)

An Advent Prayer

Knowing Love, Acceptance, Forgiveness

This coming Sunday we will HOLD ONTO HOPE found at Christmas.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him,
so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 15:13 (NIV)

THANKS

  • Wow. So many generous people at HBC! Please give thanks for the gifts enabling us to get so close to our Redevelopment Appeal target of $100,000. Our $250,000 loan target is also looking achievable. Praise God!
  • For the strength to persevere and stand firm. We have just about jumped through all the hoops for Hobart Council, for the new titles being drafted, and for the connection of NBN via Telstra.
  • One another, and the way we have supported each other through 2020
  • The recovery from Covid-19 that has happened in Australia.
  • Our political leaders who have responded to the pandemic in a way that we can be very thankful for.
  • The healthcare workers and all ancillary professions that have coped with the extra demands this year.
  • All involved with the building project. Progress has been slower than we could have ever imagined, but we are nearly there!
  • Those who have moved in to their units and the relationships that are developing with them.

REQUESTS

We come before you with these requests today . . .

  • That the renovations and upgrade to our buildings will be completed quickly and without delay once the workmen return in the new year.
  • For a stress-free break for Antal and Heather, as recover from working with architects, builders, and council.
  • For new families to come to HBC in 2021 and find their home with us.
  • Remember Stephen Baxter as he prepares to preach next Sunday and Christmas Day
  • For safety over the Christmas break: for those travelling; for those connecting with family after a big break; for our building site which has been secured; and for those prone to over-indulgence!

Haven’t fasted much before?
