HOBART BAPTIST CHURCH is a church full of life and diversity. Over the years, many believers from many backgrounds, young and old, rich and poor, male and female, Aussie, Latvian, African, Dutch, Asian, British, etc. have found a place to belong within HBC.

We are a church of diverse sanctuaries – each providing a special haven for special people.

So we gathered to worship God together, and celebrate what he is doing among us.

During the morning we heard from Margaret Eldridge, as she and her team are winding up Humanitarian Settlement Services (formerly the Refugee Support Group) after 40 years. What an amazing ministry! Stephen thanked her and the group for their decades of service to the new arrivals into Tasmania, many of whom became lifelong friends.

Also, the Karen Choir sang a great song of praise. And we shared communion led by our Multicultural Pastor, Joel Ortiz and assisted by Wah Lay (Karen Fellowship), Obang Back (Anuak), and Heather Galloway (HBC Secretary), pictured below.

WHILE DOING CHURCH TOGETHER LIKE THIS IS NOT ALWAYS EASY,
WE ALSO KNOW IT IS SO WORTH THE COST
