Easter Art in the Soundy Lounge
In the lead up to Easter Michael Henderson has hung some photographs of his art work in the Soundy Lounge for viewing and contemplation. They are part of a series called “We only remember history in the present moment“.

These 5 drawings connect contemporary life with stories from Christian Scripture. Rather than strictly illustrating biblical narratives, they reinterpret these stories in modern settings and focus more on emotions that any one scene. These 5 centre on the Easter Story.
They intentionally blur historical and present-day boundaries to invite the viewer to reflect on their own lives, emotions and experiences with God.
The collection of 5 photos is part of a series of 16 each measuring 1.2m square. Together, they span 20m in length, designed to create an immersive experience that surrounds the viewer.

This year we’re again joining in the Australian Baptist Easter Offering to unite with a thousand Australian churches in expressing our gratitude for Jesus and investing in sharing him with others.
The offering funds Crossover – a national Baptist ministry that provides all sorts of resources, training and encouragement to help us share Christ with others.
So let’s give generously as we are able! Giving slips are available in the Foyers – either pop your donation with the giving slip in the offering boxes, give via the church account, scan the QR Code on the slips. or go directly to the Crossover website >>>
MEN AT WORK!

Much goes on behind the scenes that we don’t always get to see!
Snapped this week are Warren who was plastering and painting in the church while David was outside replacing the broken light fittings and painting the stands.
We are grateful to the young men on the property committee who have been looking after the place for YEARS and who are keen for some even younger recruits!
Accommodation Wanted

Mat & Naomi Burns & the boys will be visiting Tasmania in June and are hoping to find a house in need of house-sitters, maybe with a car.
They will be down from the 11th -18th of June to attend Josh Lattimore’s wedding. If anyone can help, please let Karen Conway know.
Josh Lattimore and his fiancée, Naomi, are looking for a short-term place to live after their wedding on 14 June. They would love to find a space within the church community, whether housesitting or boarding in a granny flat or loft. Ideally, they are looking for accommodation until January in time for them to move to Melbourne for theological studies. If anyone in the congregation has an available space or knows of an opportunity, they’d be grateful to connect.

TITHES, GIFTS AND OFFERINGS

‘Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.’
2 Corinthians 9:7
We thank all who give faithfully on a regular basis, as without this support we would not be able to operate. Your offerings support our budget: and through that it enables the church to continue to be an important part of the North Hobart landscape and the place from where we can prophetically serve the City of Hobart.
It is where we can know the benefit of worshipping with others, where we hear the stories of Jesus and how they apply to us, where we are encouraged in our journey with Jesus, from where we can share God’s love with others and help them to know and trust in God themselves. Our influence can also be far reaching – there is no limit to God’s love through our deeds and actions. Thank you for your generosity.
EFT is a great way to ensure regular giving and as well there are offering boxes available for use as you leave the Sanctuary.
