Hello! Hope you are being kept well by God in this week, and all your families are safe and well.Hobart Baptist Church would like to invite you to the Luminous Festival, being hosted at the Hobart Baptist Church, 284 Elizabeth Street from June 17th to July 4th. We are hosting three key events. The first takes place on Thursday evening from 6pm to 8pm and is the opening of Breathe, Shine, and Seek to Mend, a series of artworks by Michael Henderson. The artwork forms a contemplative space for conversation relating to the Cross and Christ. If you cannot make it to this evening opening event, the art pieces will be open to the public from June 18th to July 25th, from 11am to 6pm each day.The opening is a ticketed even and tickets can be booked here: www.eventbrite.com.au/e/breathe-shine-and-seek-to-mend-launch-registration-157369589679?aff=ebdso... On Wednesday June 23rd at 6pm, you are invited to sit in on the first of our Luminous Conversations given by Ruth Burgess on her spiritual journey from a Hindu Guru and coming to Jesus. Our Luminous Conversations continue as our days lengthen with Religion, Spirituality, and the Future of Tasmania, chaired by Grace Williams taking place on June 25th. Grace will chair a discussion at 6pm between, Jacquie Petrusma, Paul Dare, Cassy O'Connor, and Stephen Baxter as they discuss the nature of spirituality and religion in the least religious capital city in Australia. The final event for Luminous is our Carols in the Tab on July 2nd. As we yearn for spring, Christmas brings lengthening days and speaks to the light of God coming into the world.
