To envisage what it is to be the church God wants us to be, we need to return to learn again from Jesus of Nazareth “who through the Spirit of holiness was appointed the Son of God in power” (Romans 1:4). In this series we will look at how he lived out the kingdom of God on earth.

YOUR ROLE AT HBC IN 2022
What is God putting on your heart to do at HBC in 2022?
Maybe the Vision Sermon Series is prompting you to answer that little voice telling you what you can do!?
The possibilities are endless, but a reminder that we are not just wanting a list of good ideas, rather we are looking for people to put their hand up to lead and make that good idea that God has put on their heart happen.
If you have any ideas, send an email through or talk to Stephen (stephen@tasbaptists.org.au) or to Michael (michael@tasbaptists.org.au).
FOSTERING HOPE DEVOTIONAL
Do you want to respond to the needs of children around you, but not sure how or if it’s right for you or what role you could play?
Fostering is a big life choice and needs prayer, time, and intentional conversations. To help with this, Fostering Hope hosts a Thinking about Fostering Devotional on zoom. This is as a great opportunity to prayerfully consider next steps.
Starts 1 March 7:30-9:00pm on zoom
Runs for five weeks
RSVP to Mary mary@fosteringhope.community
This is a great opportunity to spend the time exploring how you could respond or find encouragement for the role you are already playing. For more information, visit the Facebook event here.
THE FUTURE WITH COVID-19
We are doing well, be we are not immune. At least one family has had Covid, but are recovering. With schools back and case numbers on the rise in the community again, it is important to keep doing the right thing.
We all have the opportunity to care for each other as Jesus would have – those we love, those who are vulnerable, whether we know them or not, by :-
- Respecting social distancing – and foregoing shaking hands
- Wearing a mask – in all indoor settings and others as required
- Remembering to use the hand sanitiser provided and by washing hands frequently.
- Being vaccinated – If you’re not already, you can book by calling the Public Health Hotline on 1800 671 738 or visiting www.coronavirus.tas.gov.au/booking. Booster shots are recommended and are now available.
- Check In where required – No longer required at church. Thank you to everyone who has been faithfully doing so for well over 12 months.
- Considering your health and the health of others – stay home if you feel unwell

GIVING – Your tithes and offerings
‘Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.’
2 Corinthians 9:7
We thank all who give faithfully on a regular basis, as without this support we would not be able to operate. Your offerings support our budget: and through that it enables the church to continue to be an important part of the North Hobart landscape and the place from where we can prophetically serve the City of Hobart.
It is where we can know the benefit of worshipping with others, where we hear the stories of Jesus and how they apply to us, where we are encouraged in our journey with Jesus, from where we can share God’s love with others and help them to know and trust in God themselves. Our influence can also be far reaching – there is no limit to God’s love through our deeds and actions. Thank you for your generosity.
EFT is a great way to ensure regular giving and as well there are offering boxes available for use as you leave the Sanctuary.
