Toasties and croissants were added to the menu on Thursday, a great option around lunch time.
Your support for the coffee shop is essential. Drop in for a coffee, invite a friend to join you, and spread the word far and wide. Esteem is a unique coffee shop and the space is great for a relaxed friendly catch up with people – so what is not to love about it!? See you there!
Kelvin has a couple of lovely volunteers, but more would be really helpful as the turnover has a long way to go before it generates enough income to cover costs and wages.
CURRENT SERMON SERIES
reCreation: Past, Present and Future, until 10 September
The early chapters of Genesis give us a small glimpse into how God intended the world to be. However, in the light of the discoveries of modern science, and the magnificent photographs of the universe by the James Webb telescope, it seems existing interpretations of Genesis are no longer adequate.
Can we find in Genesis a story big enough to answer the deep question of today? Is it big enough to encompass all of life for every human being? The answer is yes.

Hosted by acclaimed author, historian, and podcaster John Dickson, this one-of-a-kind event will feature a world-class line-up of speakers, Q&As, a live recording of the popular Undeceptions podcast, and opportunities for you to grapple with our conference theme: making sense of Christianity.
You’ll come away from the inaugural Undeceptions Conference feeling more confident that the Christian faith has a solid grounding – it makes rational, emotional, moral, and historical sense. For those still unsure of the Christian faith, our program is designed to help you more clearly see the wisdom of Christ. For those who are believers, you will feel better able to defend the Christian faith in doubting times.

The Long Table is on again! Farah is from Islamabad, and loves to cook all things Pakistani: Chicken curry, Spinach chicken curry, mince with potato and green peas, Biryani, Pakistani Pulao chicken, Naan bread, Roti, Seviyan Pakistani dessert….
This community meal will assist Farah to get a Hobart City Council temporary food license for one year so she can cater for us multiple times.
The cost will be $40 per person, cash or card with square machine.
There is a limit of 40 seats for this meal so please let us know early if you would like to attend.
Hopefully you will have seen this beautiful and colourful mural, “The Optimism” in Esteem by now.
Anna Mykhalchuk, the artist, is seeking expressions of interest from budding artists to attend a workshop with her to learn this Ukranian art of Samchykivka.
The two-hour workshop will cost $35 per person, and class size will initially be limited to five people and will be held in HBC’s foyer.
Sign up forms are available from Esteem. The date and time will be determined once participants have signed up.

GIVING – YOUR TITHES AND OFFERINGS
‘Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.’
2 Corinthians 9:7
We thank all who give faithfully on a regular basis, as without this support we would not be able to operate. Your offerings support our budget: and through that it enables the church to continue to be an important part of the North Hobart landscape and the place from where we can prophetically serve the City of Hobart.
It is where we can know the benefit of worshipping with others, where we hear the stories of Jesus and how they apply to us, where we are encouraged in our journey with Jesus, from where we can share God’s love with others and help them to know and trust in God themselves. Our influence can also be far reaching – there is no limit to God’s love through our deeds and actions. Thank you for your generosity.
EFT is a great way to ensure regular giving and as well there are offering boxes available for use as you leave the Sanctuary.
