MAY MISSION MONTH

It is May Mission Month! Let’s unite in partnership with Baptist Mission Australia’s intercultural teams and get excited about all that God is doing through His people in neighbourhoods near and far. Explore all the resources: www.baptistmissionaustralia.org/MoreLikeJesus
Don’t forget! We will have a special offering for Jan Yawan and her work through Baptist Mission Australia. This will take place THIS Sunday 25 May. Please pray about how much you might contribute to her ministry to the disabled, Lanternlight, in Thailand.
Jan has filmed a moving and encouraging update video for her supporters. In the video, Jan and her daughter Anna share beautiful tributes to Jit, their beloved husband and father who passed away late last year. Then Jan shares encouraging stories from Lanternlight Ministries and gives an update about the future. It’s a special video that encourages us all in the hope that is found in Jesus.

VIETNAMESE CHURCH CELEBRATES
Thursday evening 22 May, the Hobart Station Church celebrated it’s third Anniversary.
Matt Henderson, David Knox and myself were honoured to be special guests and felt very blessed representing HBC. Guests/supporters travelled from Melbourne, Sydney and Vietnam.
This small Vietnamese fellowship began in a home on the 22 May 2022 (sound familiar?) and by September they were meeting in the Soundy Lounge on Sunday afternoons. You may remember that HBC was the venue for the National Vietnamese Association Christian Conference with 200 delegates from around the world – amazing with a local church of 4 couples!

ACCOMMODATION WANTED

Mat & Naomi Burns & the boys will be visiting Tasmania in June and are hoping to find a house in need of house-sitters, maybe with a car.
They will be down from the 11th -18th of June to attend Josh Lattimore’s wedding. If anyone can help, please let Karen Conway know.

Josh Lattimore and his fiancée, Naomi, are looking for a short-term place to live after their wedding on 14 June. They would love to find a space within the church community, whether housesitting or boarding in a granny flat or loft. Ideally, they are looking for accommodation until January in time for them to move to Melbourne for theological studies. If anyone in the congregation has an available space or knows of an opportunity, they’d be grateful to connect.

TITHES, GIFTS AND OFFERINGS

‘Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.’
2 Corinthians 9:7
We thank all who give faithfully on a regular basis, as without this support we would not be able to operate. Your offerings support our budget: and through that it enables the church to continue to be an important part of the North Hobart landscape and the place from where we can prophetically serve the City of Hobart.
It is where we can know the benefit of worshipping with others, where we hear the stories of Jesus and how they apply to us, where we are encouraged in our journey with Jesus, from where we can share God’s love with others and help them to know and trust in God themselves. Our influence can also be far reaching – there is no limit to God’s love through our deeds and actions. Thank you for your generosity.
EFT is a great way to ensure regular giving and as well there are offering boxes available for use as you leave the Sanctuary.
