Annual Meeting and Church Members’ Meeting

23 November 2025

The 2025 Annual Members’ Meeting and a quarterly Church Members’ Meeting was held in the Gibson Hall following the 10am service and morning tea on Sunday 23 November 2025.

Annual Members’ Meeting Outcomes

The following Office Bearers were elected:

Deacons (3 year term):  Scott Ambrose, Joanna Sinclair and Jeremiah Ambrose

General Members’ Meeting Outcomes

Finance report and quarterly statement presented
Pastor and Assistant Secretary report.
Request for further information about plans for Pastoral leadership.  Highlighted need for more communication between Deacons and the Church Membership on what is being discussed.

Update from December Deacon’s Meeting

  • Ministry Review (Church Health Facilitation review) – to occur at the start of 2026.  Inviting a team from the Baptist Union to come to Hobart Baptist Church, gather data, interview church community and provide a proposal for the way forward.
  • Joseph Nguyen (Vietnamese Fellowship) invited to become a Deacon – he has agreed.
  • Constitution updates (ideas raised at Members Meeting) – to commence early 2026.
  • Creating Safe Spaces training – pilot session went well.  More sessions to follow!
