MARRIAGE COURSE
The Alpha “Marriage Course” at Hobart Baptist Church began last Wednesday 25 June with a Date Night.

13 couples joined us (and 10 marvellous volunteers) for a wonderful evening and solid start to the 7 week “Marriage Course” series.
Adiba prepared a delicious meal of Kurdish meat kebabs (with rice, flatbread and side vegetables) and tasty kuleecha for dessert (walnut and date pastries) to go with delicious tea and coffee from Esteem.
It was wonderful to have many HBC volunteers who helped us pull together a beautiful evening – tablecloths from Joel, gorgeous flower arrangements from Annabel, delightful music and coffees from Kelvin, tealights (from Jing). Our young ones (Jeremiah, Fiona and Rawa) did a sterling job serving drinks and meals and assisting with the pack up and clean up. Kath (such a talented host!) seemed to be everywhere, plating food, packing and emptying dishwashers and generally making things flow smoothly.
Please pray for all the participants as they continue for a further 6 weeks on zoom, and then
coming together again for a Celebration Dessert and Coffee Night – Wednesday, Aug 20.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

During 2025, Hobart Baptist Church is again supporting the mission outreach Operation Christmas Child. We will collect donations until September, with a packing day in October.
As underlined by state leader Amanda Towns when she spoke recently, every box is a Gospel opportunity, impacting not just the children but also their families and communities.
During June we will collect clothing for the young recipients.
Here are some ideas:
- Shirts, shorts and t-shirts
- Underwear
- Footwear
- Hats and socks
We also accept financial donations to go towards the shipping costs of $12.50 per box.
For further information please speak to Celia or Kylie who will be happy to answer your queries.

TITHES, GIFTS AND OFFERINGS

‘Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.’
2 Corinthians 9:7
We thank all who give faithfully on a regular basis, as without this support we would not be able to operate. Your offerings support our budget: and through that it enables the church to continue to be an important part of the North Hobart landscape and the place from where we can prophetically serve the City of Hobart.
It is where we can know the benefit of worshipping with others, where we hear the stories of Jesus and how they apply to us, where we are encouraged in our journey with Jesus, from where we can share God’s love with others and help them to know and trust in God themselves. Our influence can also be far reaching – there is no limit to God’s love through our deeds and actions. Thank you for your generosity.
EFT is a great way to ensure regular giving and as well there are offering boxes available for use as you leave the Sanctuary.
