Our advent series will explore how Jesus is the rightful King of the world – but also the importance of us receiving Him.
The series culminates on Christmas Day with John 1:11-12: “He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God…”

2025 HBC Annual Meeting and General Meeting
After morning tea, Sunday 23 November, 2025
All office bearers are up for election or re-election at this important meeting!
Nominations are welcome for Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer.
The nominations book (in the main church foyer) willl close on Wednesday 12 November.

CREATING SAFE SPACES TRAINING
1-4pm, Sunday 23 November
Soundy Lounge
Creating Safe Spaces is essential training for building a welcoming church culture. It covers legal responsibilities, WHS, risk management and strategies to protect kids and vulnerable people.
Tas Baptists indicate it is required for:
- Pastors, elders and deacons
- Anyone working with children or young people
- Anyone working with vulnerable adults
- Register: creatingsafespaces.org.au/events
- $25 rego, but can be subsidised by HBC!

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
Thank you for all your shoebox contributions throughout 2025!
The packing day on Sunday, 26 October, after the service was a huge success with 145 boxes packed! Many people packed 1, 2, 3 or even 4 boxes. After the packing was over, the youth and some others stayed to pray for the boxes and the children who would receive them.
In 2026 we will be aiming for 150 boxes! For further information about Operation Christmas Child and activities during 2026, please speak to Kylie Henderson or Celia Munro.

SMALL GROUPS AT HBC
Youth & Young Adults
The Youth & Young Adults group (aged 16-25) meets on Saturday nights at HBC, 6-7:30pm.

Men’s Discussion Group
You are welcome to join the very lively group of gentlemen who meet at the church on the third Monday of each month at 10.00am. The next get together is on Monday 17 November. For further information contact Geoffrey Clarke 03 6244 8838.
Ladies Coffee Morning
Ladies welcome to join the monthly Thursday morning coffee catch ups. These are held on the second Thursday of the month from 10:30am-12 midday at HBC. The next on is on Thursday, 13th November.

We thank all who give faithfully on a regular basis, as without this support we would not be able to operate. Your offerings support our budget: and through that it enables the church to continue to be an important part of the North Hobart landscape and the place from where we can prophetically serve the City of Hobart.
It is where we can know the benefit of worshipping with others, where we hear the stories of Jesus and how they apply to us, where we are encouraged in our journey with Jesus, from where we can share God’s love with others and help them to know and trust in God themselves. Our influence can also be far reaching – there is no limit to God’s love through our deeds and actions. Thank you for your generosity.
EFT is a great way to ensure regular giving and as well there are offering boxes available for use as you leave the Sanctuary.
