Annual Members’ Meeting Outcomes
The Hobart Baptist Church Annual Members’ Meeting for 2022 was held in the Gibson Hall
on Sunday 20 November, after the 10am service.
Election of Deacons and Officers
The election took place by ballot, and all those nominated were elected unanimously:-
Deacons elected for a 3 year term: Scott Ambrose, Jing Priest and Joanna Sinclair.
Officers elected for 2023:
- Secretary: Heather Galloway
- Treasurer: Geoffrey Clarke
- Assistant Secretary: Joanna Sinclair
- Assistant Treasurer: Kylie Henderson (From 13 February 2023)
The following nominations for Children and Youth Leaders were confirmed:
- Kids’ Church: Tracy Ortiz
- Youth: Scott Ambrose and Kelvin Smith
- Boys’ Brigade Captain: Scott Ambrose
- Boys’ Brigade Chaplain: Kelvin Smith
The Finance Committee for 2023 was confirmed:
Geoffrey Clarke, Heather Galloway, Kylie Henderson, William Maguire, Hannah Nguyen and Ben Wagner.
We are grateful for the willingness of these people to serve Hobart Baptist Church in this way. Please pray for them in the coming year.
The Financial Report and Statements for 1st July 2021 – 30th June 2022 Financial Year was presented by the Treasurer and accepted.
General Members’ Meeting.
A General Members’ Meeting followed on after the Annual Members’ Meeting on 20 November 2022.
Reports from the Senior Pastor and Secretary were presented.
The Final Budget for 2022-2023 FY, as presented by the Treasurer, was accepted as were the
Financial Statements for 1st Quarter, 2022-23 FY.
An invitation from the Diaconate was extended to anyone interested in helping to develop an ‘Acknowledgement of Country’ statement for HBC to put up their hand and contact the secretary for more information.

Members’ Meetings are held quarterly, and are open to members and non-members alike.
The Members are led by the Deacons, who meet monthly.
