care of our official membership.
Annual Members’ Meeting – Sunday 24 November 2024
The Hobart Baptist Church Annual Members’ Meeting will be held in the Gibson Hall on Sunday 24 November 2024 following the 10am service and morning tea.
All welcome and encouraged to attend.
This meeting is an important one in the church calendar, as the church prepares for the coming year. Prayerful consideration by the church family regarding the appointments is important.
Nominations are being called for the following:-
Deacons – 3 year terms: 3 positions available.
Retiring Deacons are David Needham and Joel Ortiz
Officers Bearers – 1 year term:
Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer
Leaders for Children’s and Youth Ministries and Finance Committee Members will be confirmed:
Financial Report and Statements for 1 July 2023 – 30 June 2024 will be presented
The nomination book is now open.
Note: All Leaders in the Hobart Baptist Church must have a current Working with Vulnerable People (blue) Card as issued by the Justice Department of the State Government of Tasmania. Any nominee without the Card should have applied for same and cannot take up office until the Card has been issued by the Government and sighted by the Duty of Care Officer.
HBC General Members’ Meeting
A General Members’ Meeting will follow on after the Annual Members Meeting.
Agenda Items will include:
- Confirmation of Minutes from the Members’ Meetings of 30 June 2024.
- Associate Pastor’s Report
- Assistant Secretary’s Report
- Treasurer’s Report including the Reception of Financial Statements for 1st Quarter, 2024-2025 FY
- Application for Church Membership – Edward and Pilar.
Meeting papers will be circulated closer to the meeting.

Members’ Meetings are held quarterly, and are open to members and non-members alike.
The Members are led by the Deacons, who meet monthly.
